Media surrounds us with images of the perfect body. Lean, long, supple, athletic, buff bodies surround us in print and video. Sadly, that’s not what we see in the mirror. It’s wrong to assume that men don’t compare themselves with the images that surround us. We do, though not all of us care enough to do something about what we see. This is not purely vanity. Most men undergo physical transformations every decade. Our minds see a strong twenty year old, our eyes see a paunchy fifty year old.
Body contouring can be achieved through the combined use of liposuction and skin removal. The male liposuction contours the soft tissue; the excess skin is contoured to fit the body better. Liposuction is the traumatic removal of fat to create a contour change, but liposuction is not weight reduction surgery. Liposuction only tackles the fat between the body wall and the skin. Liposuction can create a substantial contour change that shows off the underlying muscles. It can also create a shape that enhances the underlying muscles by highlighting the contour hollows and leaves fat to look like muscle bulges.
